WoW, Raiding and Mac Laptops
Series-illidan1
Hey everyone,
Its been quite some time since I have really been into WoW and even longer since I have done any raiding.
I no longer have a Windows machine I am currently running a 16" MacBook Pro M3 Max processor (clam shelled with a 34" Alienware OLED screen).
How viable would this be for any serious or semi-serious WoW playing and raiding?
I know in the past WoW was not the greatest experience on Mac but am wondering about it now that the M3 Max has raytracing etc.

They still have a Mac tech support forum so I assume WoW is still supported to the OP I’d say give it an install and see how it runs you can play without paying up to level 20 if I remember correctly.

no
here are the minimum and recommended specifications
World of Warcraft looks and performs very well on Mac. It’s a standout option for gamers frustrated that few other big-name games come to macOS.
Blizzard’s perennially popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game offers constantly evolving content so you won’t get bored. And you don’t need a PC to play.
Use your Mac to pay a visit to World of Warcraft
The game is set in the fantasy world of Azeroth, which is populated by various races: humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and trolls, among others. Players create a character from one of these races then choose to be a warrior, mage, rogue, etc.
Then your character goes out to complete quests, explore the world and battle monsters and other players. And it’s not all fighting — crafting and trading are also part of the game.
None of that’s going to be fun if the game doesn’t play well, but a wide range of Mac users report generally positive experiences with WoW, not just me. Blizzard made a native Apple Silicon version of the game, and Apple’s M-series chips are powerful, with speedy GPU cores built into them.
Of course, the new and more advanced the processor, the better the performance. But that’s always true for e
Uninstalling World of Warcraft on MacBook Pro

You are posting in the Mac Assist Forums, so to answer your question, this is not a PC area, hehe. I would recommend posting n the Tech Support forum which deals with mainly Windows related subjects:

Good luck. Also, since you are asking about uninstalling the game from a PC:
In request to remove World of Warcraft safely from your system, you will need to go into your Control Panel and employ Add/Remove Programs. To do this, first go to the Start/Windows button, click Control Panel, and then double click on Include or Remove Programs.
-For Windows XP, you will have the add/remove programs option.
-For Windows Vista, you will have an uninstall/remove option under the "Programs" or "Programs and Features" section.
If the game is not listed in your Add/Remove Programs, or you receive an error during the uninstallation process, then you will have to manually uninstall the game by deleting the application directory where the program was installed. The default location is "C:\Program Files\W
Gaming laptop vs macbook pro for wow

So I’m planning on buying a new laptop for WoW. Due to the amount of travel, desktop is not an option. So laptop it is but I’m stuck between a macbook and gaming laptop. The only game I play on the laptop will be WoW. I want to run wow with max settings and occasionally play it on my 4k TV. For all other games, I have a ps5 so it just have to run wow smoothly. Besides WoW, the laptop will be used for movies/shows etc so I value a good screen. Im thinking about a macbook pro m2 (16gb ram, 512 ssd) or a lenovo legion 7 (Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16" WQXGA IPS 240Hz-i9-13900HX-32GB-1TB SSD-RTX 4070 8GB-W11H). They are around the same price (2700 euro) and do not want to spend more than 3k. I also want it to be a safe bet for the upcoming years (do I need to worry about potential Microsoft deal with Activision/Blizz if I choose a mac just for wow?)
What do you guys think? Any advise is greatly appreciated because I never owned a mac. Thanks!

What else will you be doing on the laptop?
If it’s only WOW then MacBook Pro due to much longer battery life.
