The primary control for the audio system is through a Q-Sysplatform located in the press box, from which the announcer’s mic or music can be distributed throughout the facility. In this distributed loudspeaker system, the main loudspeakers cover the stadium’s main seating bowl. Separate loudspeakers cover the following ancillary areas: a vendor area behind the third base dugout, concessions and parking behind the first base dugout, bullpen and staging areas for pregame presentations, the ticketing and main entrance concourse, and the Lowe’s VIP building.

But the park property is also home to the club facilities for the local American Legion post. The Lowe’s VIP Building sits near the first base line of the baseball field and has a large lounge that looks out on the field, two private rooms also overlooking the field, a kitchen, and a conference room. All these spaces employ a distributed audio system using ceiling speakers, which allows occupants to hear audio feed from the stadium and control the volume separately in each room.

Attend American Legion Day at Target Field. The Minnesota Twins take on the Kansas City Royals on June 5, 2026.

We welcome anyone who is part of the American Legion Family: veterans, relatives, supporters, Legion Baseball & Softball players, coaches and their families, and anyone who participates in any American Legion program, such the Riders, Oratorical Contest, Boys and Girls State, Legionville, you name it. We want to have the largest American Legion presence ever at this game.

Be there for all the action. We will have a link for purchasing tickets when the Twins make them available.

Commander Linda Dvorak will toss out the first pitch, and a member will raise the U.S. flag.

The relationship between The American Legion and Major League Baseball goes back to the 1920s. After the birth of Legion Baseball in 1926, funding for a second season looked bleak and no season was held. Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis stepped in and pledged an annual donation of $50,000, and the program resumed in 1928. Winners of the American Legion World Series attended the MLB World Series. To this day, the winners still attend the World Series, and MLB provides a

The 98th American Legion World Series has come and gone. Here's a recap of Shelby events

The stands at Keeter Stadium on the campus of Shelby High School are quiet, the crowds have dispersed and the championship team has headed back to Chesapeake, Virginia, following the 98th American Legion World Series.

The series wrapped up Aug. 19 with a final game between Chesapeake, Virginia and League City, Texas, with Chesapeake ultimately winning the championship game 5-0.

"We were so excited to see the stands full at this year’s series, especially the support from the state of North Carolina when their local team played," said Adrian Hamrick, director of operations. "We were honored to have some new special groups join us this year for aerial events in the sky and hope to bring even more events to the 2026 series."

Here's a look at the 2025 American Legion World Series:

  • Eight teams competed, coming from all across the United States.
  • There were 152,340 tickets sold from at least 29 states.
  • There were over 74 bat kid applications this year, more than ever before, and there was a live drawing at the Wake Forest vs Appalachian State game in April.
  • There was a total of 16 b
