World of warcraft name change

How do you change your character's name AFTER you paid?

Anastrasza-argent-dawn1

If this topic strikes you as funny, you aren’t alone I can’t believe I have to ask how to use what should be a simple feature. I paid for a name change, I logged out of the game and then signed back in (because it said your name change will be useable next time you log into the game).

HOW do I literally do the name change? There’s no option on my character selection screen, I’ve never changed a character name before so I don’t know how the feature works.

I’m not exactly sure on this since the warband upgrade. But you may need to switch over to the realm menu and select from there.

I’m not home at the computer but I think it’s done at the bottom right where it says warband and you should be able make menu selection from there.

If I’m wrong someone will be along to correct me

Tokens for the various services should show on the upper right i believe of your character select screen. If the purchase was recent, it might take a bit to process and a new login to show.

World of Warcraft Making Big Changes to Paid Game Service

Summary

  • World of Warcraft is removing the Guild Name Change service from the Shop and Battle.net in favor of an in-game feature.
  • The in-game Guild Name Change will cost 200,000 gold, adding to the list of recently retired paid guild services.
  • The change hints at the upcoming release of Patch 11.1.5, speculated to arrive on April 22 with the Guild Name Change feature.

World of Warcraft is removing the Guild Name Change service from the Shop and Battle.net on April 22 in favor of the feature being available in-game for 200,000 gold. Once this change arrives, ostensibly with the next content update, the World of Warcraft in-game store will no longer have any guild game services available for purchase.

Recently, World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.5 arrived on the Public Test Realm, giving fans a hands-on look at the upcoming update. While exploring the game and its files, players discovered a new option within World of Warcraft itself that allows fans to rename their guild, rather than relying on the paid Guild Name Change service in the cash shop.

Name change and transfer questions/help

I wasn’t sure where to post this so I ask forgiveness if this is the erroneous place.

Here’s my issue:

I have a character on my main realm that has a cool designate I would like to operate for another character, who currently resides on a different realm.

What I want to do is change the name of my character on my main realm, then transfer in my modern character to said realm, and have the new character hold the name of the ancient character.

However I’m reading some things that say this isn’t achievable and I’m looking for clarification.

One post I read said that if I change my older characters name (as to free the name for my fresh character to use) then the name becomes locked for 90 days and cannot be used on that realm, even by me.

I would have to linger the 90 days before entity able to use it, and that is assuming I could even get it again.

I’m also reading that my plan can be done, however it requires deleting the current name holder, which will lock the label to my account, and let me to transfer the recent character in and use the name. Is this true?

TL;DR Ethics A has a cool label that I want to apply for character B who is on a different realm. How

Old Character Names Changed?!?!

Plucker:

Please advise as if I decide to play, would love my old names back! Thanx in advance!

Possibly.

We’ve had two systems overall for releasing names once it was no longer done manually. The first basically changed every character’s name that qualified for being released, which is likely what happened to your characters.

When you go to log into the character you’ll be prompted to rename the character. If the name is still available you’ll be able to select it. If it has already been claimed, you won’t.

The second system, which is what we use now, checks name availability when someone goes to create a character. If a character that holds the name is eligible for rename (i.e. the account has been inactive for at least 2 expansions), the character will be flagged for a rename and the newly created character will claim it.

As it stands, I’m afraid there isn’t really a way to determine if a name will be available until you log in.

How does Name Change work?

Kryokk-magtheridon1

When I finally choose which character I want to main (or at least level first) in DF, I want to give them my usual in-game name that I use for my main character.

If I use the Name Change service, am I forced to rename them straight away?

Essentially I’d be swapping the names of two characters, I don’t want to change the name on the character that has the name I want and be forced to change straight away as the other name won’t be freed up.

Would require more than 2 Name Change purchases in that scenario.

I’m hoping it just sets it to be renamed, and you can do it when you’re ready?

I haven’t done it for a while so can’t remember.

yep you need to buy 2 name changes sadly. however if you delete a character to free up the name, then name change , then contact support, they should be able to restore your character for free if the name is taken. this only worked for me a year+ ago, idk if they changed it now

I think I tried that once before and you usually get told to delete the character with the name unfortunately.

I don’t mind using 2 name changes, it is what it is, I just wan
